Is Tarot appropriate for kids?

The Tarot is a deck of cards used for divination. It is often associated with fortune telling and magic, and has been used by many cultures throughout history. Many people use it as a tool to gain insight into their future or the future of others.

The child tarot card is a common tarot card that is often seen in children’s books.

Tarot cards have been used for almost 500 years.

It’s been dubbed a “card game” by others. Others refer to it as a “intuitive art.” Many people (like me) enjoy Tarot because it allows them to explore many alternatives, listen to their intuition, and make confident conclusions.

Is it, however, suitable for children?

“Yes,” I say as a professional Tarot reader with over 30 years of experience in the metaphysical industry—and as a mother of two wonderful children with lovely hearts and excellent manners. Tarot is a fantastic game for kids.”

Getting a Tarot reading or learning how to perform Tarot is very acceptable for children.

But, and this is a big but, when you’re practicing Tarot with kids, make sure you’re using an age-appropriate deck.

If you pick up a Tarot deck off the shelf at your local bookshop, it may include pictures that are frightening or perplexing to children.

For example, the Death card (typically depicting a ghastly figure), the Tower card (a burning, collapsing tower with people jumping from windows and fleeing for their lives), and the Lovers card (ahem…use your imagination) all appear in a conventional Tarot deck.

That’s why it’s critical to choose a deck that’s suitable for children, with language and artwork that’s acceptable for their age. Consider a G-rated Tarot deck rather than an R-rated one.

Don’t allow your child use “any” Tarot deck that they chance to grasp with their beautiful little fingers, just like you wouldn’t let them watch “any” movie or read “any” book.

Teaching children how to read Tarot cards

Teaching children to read Tarot is a lot like teaching adults. Kids are intelligent, and they will soon grasp the fundamentals.

You may tell your kid that:

– The Tarot deck has 78 cards.

– Each card has a unique image…as well as a unique message for you.

– Consider a question. If you wish, you may ask the question aloud.

– Shuffle the cards in the deck.

– Arrange the cards on the table.

– Choose one card. Take a careful look. What do you think you’re seeing on the card? What do you believe this card is attempting to communicate to you? Do you believe this card has a message for you or a response to your query? What exactly is it?

– Encourage your kid to talk about what they’ve seen and how they’re feeling.

– Talk about what they’ve done together. Try to get to a point where your kid feels like they’ve received a clear response to their inquiry and knows what they should do next.

That’s a fast and easy method to get youngsters interested in Tarot.

There’s a lot more to learn after that.

Tarot isn’t only for grown-ups. It’s also a fantastic tool for youngsters and teenagers.

Learning how to read Tarot cards may benefit children in the following ways:

– Make better choices by weighing alternatives (“Should I do A, B, or C?”).

– Rather of feeling victimized, you should feel strong. (“I always have options, no matter what’s going on.”)

– Pay attention to their gut impulses and emotions.

– Recognize the link between acts and rewards, as well as actions and outcomes.

– And, particularly for younger children, develop motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

As a parent, reading Tarot cards with your children will become a treasured family tradition—something your child will look forward to just as much as bedtime tales or movie night.

You may be shocked by what your kid says to you during a Tarot reading, whether it’s smart, deep, or funny.

Play with a deck of cards!

Blessings,

Theresa
