Since the discovery of exoplanets, it has been discovered that many of them have the characteristics to be habitable. Many of these planets have an eccentric orbit, which means they spend more time in a closer orbit around their star than do other planets in their system. This results in them being in an environment with more solar radiation than do most of their neighbors, which could make life easier on them.
Welcome back to the S21 for our August month-long blog carnival. So, what does the Moon say about cancer? Technically, the Moon is governed by the sign Cancer, which is a fixed sign (always one of the four cardinal signs of the astrological chart), therefore the Moon’s influence on cancer is only temporary, and a bit of knowledge can help take the edge off.
New Moon [18 Cancer 02].
– 10. July 2021 (02:17 GMT+1)
During the New Moon, the Sun and the Moon stand side by side in the same sign and degree. This month the Moon is strongest in her dominant sign, Cancer.
In astrology, the Moon is the sign of women and mothers, and Cancer is the sign of care and motherhood. This is a fertile new moon, full of potential.
Cancer is a sign that brings you back to your roots and focuses your attention on your home and family. You seek comfort, a place to build a nest, where you feel safe.
Whatever the position of the New Moon in your horoscope, this is where you will feel the desire to retreat, to be in your comfort zone, to be at ease and comfortable.
The New Moon in Cancer is the perfect time to set your intentions for the month ahead, especially in the areas of home, family, your past, and your legacy.
The new moon begins a new cycle, the perfect time to make a fresh start, organize a family event, focus on a move or a house project.
This is an important new moon because it is related to the three outer planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. A big change is taking place, a major transition.
The Sun in Cancer (18 degrees) separates from Uranus in Taurus (14 degrees), bringing the theme of change. The Sun in the water sign is in conjunction with the emotional Neptune in Pisces (23 degrees) – the perfect time to rethink your hopes and dreams.
The Sun’s broad opposition to Pluto in Capricorn (25 degrees) reminds us that when you start something new, you inevitably have to leave something else behind. It’s in the nature of things.
Relationship with the eclipse cycle
This new moon feels particularly strong because it is the first bright new moon in Cancer since 2017. In 2018, 2019 and 2020, the new moon in Cancer was a solar eclipse.
This new moon in Cancer and this full moon in Capricorn two weeks ago, on the 24th. June could therefore be related to the powerful Cancer-April eclipse cycle that began in July 2018 and will end in July 2020.
This is a clear symbolism in my life, as we sold our family home in November 2018 and I have since begun an important new chapter in my life.
To confirm the significance of the current full moon / new moon week, two weeks ago, on the day of the full moon, I moved out of the apartment I had been living in for months.
For the past two weeks, I have been traveling around the country visiting friends and family. On Monday the 12th, two days after the new moon, I begin a new temporary residence in my new home. Divine timing? You can feel it.
The zodiacal sign Cancer/April crosses the MC/IC axis in my horoscope, the base of the horoscope that governs work and home, your past and future path. The full moon of June 24 fell exactly on my MC/IC, and I left.
The fact that we bought our parents house during the last cycle of Cancer and Capricorn eclipses in 2000/2002 completes the circle and underlines the importance of this period in my life.
Gaining insight into what home or family means to you personally is one way to use this New Moon. For example, I don’t currently own my home by choice, but I have become aware of the importance of home and family in my life.
Lately I’ve been welcomed into others’ homes and families, and the power of the quote below is right up my alley. A derivative of the word planet which also means wanderer.
