Uranus Station Retrograde August 19 – January 18

Uranus Station Retrograde is a common astrological phenomenon in which the planet Uranus is retrograde, or it will appear to be so to the naked eye. The planet Uranus is a slow moving planet, and so, it can take several days for the planet to return to its original orbit.

On August 19, Uranus station retrograde began, and it will continue through the first week of September. The retrograde will make it difficult for Uranus in Taurus to express herself through her station, so we may not see much from her at this time. That is not to say, we won’t see some things. There is a very interesting aspect in the sky, Neptune right on Uranus’ nose, in Virgo.

If you’ve been following our blog, you’re probably waiting to find out if Uranus station retrograde will impact you. If so, we can help you get ready for it. We’ll be discussing how you can use retrograde to your advantage, and what to expect when Uranus station retrograde enters your sign.

Uranus’ yearly retrograde cycle starts. Uranus loves to shake things up a little. It is sudden and has the ability to deceive anybody. Taurus is the zodiac sign associated with pragmatism. It’s just dirt. It’s about the cash. It’s all about values. Taurus constructs everything from the foundation up. Uranus causes havoc and has the potential to destroy everything.

Uranus’ previous transit through Taurus occurred in the 1930s. It was a remarkable period of endless drought and severe weather. We had the Dust Bowl in the center of the United States for nearly the whole period Uranus was in Taurus. It resulted in large-scale migrations of people from central America’s farms to other areas of the country. When I heard on the news last month that fires in California and Oregon had thrown ash three thousand miles away, clouding the sky in Maine and New England, I remembered that period. Dust swept across the country and reached Washington DC in the 1930s, drawing the attention of members of Congress who had to wipe dirt from an Oklahoma farmer’s property off their freshly pressed clothes. They only started writing real support for the farmers after that. It’s worth remembering that most of the Dust Bowl was caused by soil mismanagement between the 1890s and the 1920s.

More climate (and food supply) problems, I believe, will emerge. Environmental injustices and migration stories will be in the headlines. Taurus, wherever it appears in your horoscope, is likely to draw your attention in unusual (there’s that word again) ways. Perhaps it has something to do with money. Property-related issues. While the bumps may seem difficult, there are fresh begins and new beginnings buried underneath them.

After a wait of almost 2 years, the retrograde transit of Uranus arrives on August 19 and will last about 1 month. Uranus stations retrograde (that is, reverses its momentum) in a sign about every 2.5 years, and the last transit of Uranus through Scorpio occurred in June 2012. This is a great time to do some research on what the year ahead has in store for you. The transit will speed up on October 19, and Uranus will complete the entire transit (that is, it will direct itself toward the same sign it passed through at the beginning of the transit) on January 18, 2014..
